Archive links, RSS feed, search, and all those good things lurk under the three-bar icon in the upper right.
I’ve set things up so that I need to manually approve the first comment by someone, and then they can comment away to their heart’s content. I apologize for that first-comment delay, but I think it’ll save me nuisance.
Markdown is enabled for comments (and posting, but that only matters to me). If you’ve been posting on G+ lately, same deal.
Once I settle in, I’ll be locking comments on posts older than a few weeks, to help manage spam.
Comments are not threaded, and will be on a single page, because that’s how I like it.
And now you know!
I’d have liked to write more for this blog the last couple weeks, but I had the Martian Death Fu to keep me otherwise occupied. I have done some reading, screenshot taking, and note making in preparation for upcoming entries, and we’ll just see what gets written up when. There’s so much neat stuff here waiting for me to comment on! Should be a good year for blogging.
Originally, all those centihours ago, I was going to use this blog to host reviews I've written in the last year or so alongside new ones. The plan has been altered, as Darth Vader said.
When I saw how the Uresia review turned out, I got to thinking that it'd be interesting to see how much the production process affects my expressions of happiness about other things, too. So I've got a new plan to write fresh reviews of things like Deluge and Dungeon World, where I know the general sort of thing I want to say, alongside ones of things like Weird Adventures and some Dungeon World playbooks, where I don't yet know just what points I may want to make.
And now you know.
I need to do a little experimenting here with image formatting and uploading options. It's all for the best in the long run, really.
I promised S. John a review of his Uresia: The Grave of Heaven ages ago, and really, it's time to deliver.
So let's just get this formatting thing in order…
I read roleplaying games, and play them when I can, and I talk up the things that are interesting me at any particular moment. It makes me happy to call attention to neat work that my friends and readers may not otherwise hear about, and to offer them a fresh angle on something they may not have thought about in the ways I did.
Over the years, my review-ish posts have appeared in a bunch of forums, social media sites, etc. This blog will, I hope, be a sort of central repository. I'll try writing new reviews here first for copying elsewhere, and go through my backlog hither and yon to copy over old posts here as well.
Experience tells me that some reviews will be quite long, some quite short. Whatever seems to fit the piece at hand and my thoughts about it, I figure; the closest thing I have to a format is just a desire to capture the thoughts that make me think “Wow! Wanna share that!”
The other thing you'll see here is me experimenting with the presentation, doing things like making use of photos of mine I'm proud of (as in this post), working through theme options, and so on. You've been warned. 🙂
